Mini-Session Logistics and Details

We are very excited about the upcoming District-Wide Mini-Sessions Jefferson County High School on April 13, 2018.  The following information is provided to help you maximize your experience and ensure that you receive attendance credit.

  • Arrive at JCHS by 8:00 a.m. for light breakfast (coffee, tea, water, fruit, pastries)
  • Be seated in JCHS auditorium by 8:25 for Keynote Speaker
  • Plan Ahead: Review Schedule and Presentation Details
    • Paper session descriptions will NOT be available on site.
  • Check back for updates and additional information.
    • Room assignments are subject to change.
    • Use the link on this page, rather than making a copy, so that you will always see the most up-to-date version.
  • Be Prepared for a fast-paced morning!
    • Keynote will begin promptly at 8:30.
    • 5 minute transition time between sessions. 
    • Digital sign-ins for keynote and each session.  See link below.
  • Sign In to each of the 3 Breakout sessiona using the Sign In Link near the bottom of this page.
  • Please do not attempt to sign in during the Keynote Session. 
  • You are encouraged to BYOSD (Bring Your Own School Device). Student devices will be available to borrow during sessions, as well.
  • Afternoon In-Service Schedules are principal-directed.  Please touch base with your principal or supervisor for details and expectations.

Schedule Summary:

8:00-8:25: Light breakfast with coffee station, then claim your seat in the auditorium for the Keynote session.

8:30-9:00:  Keynote Speaker Tony Dalton (Auditorium)

9:05-9:50: Session 1 (Pods 1 & 2 and Media Center)

9:55-10:40:  Session 2 (Pods 1 & 2 and Media Center)

10:45-11:30:  Session 3 (Pods 1 & 2 and Media Center)

Your voices were heard!  As you can see from the schedule, a multitude of topics, facilitated by a variety of educators from all levels, are available to provide teachers with over 30 options in each of the three sessions. 

Sessions will be first-come-first-serve, once the room is full, the session will be closed.  Plan in advance so that you can quickly claim your seat in your first-choice session.  Be sure to plan a backup, just in case your first choice is full.

Session boards were created with dotstorming. Vote on session you would like to attend. This is not registering you for a session. More dots mean session has lots of interest. More info on dotstorming here

Sign In Link 

Be sure to sign in to each of the 3 Breakout sessions using your O365 credentials during the session.  Timestamps and usernames are automatically generated for each response, so be sure to sign in for yourself.  The form will accept responses only during the event.  Smart Phones and personal devices should be used only with personal data plans, not on the school network. 

If you have any trouble signing in with a school device, please visit the Support Station, located on both levels between Pods 1 & 2, during the sessions.



All sessions will take place in the Pod 1, Pod 2, or the Media Center.  Room numbers at JCHS are based on the area of the building.  Using the following guidelines:

Hundreds Place = Pod Number

Tens Place = Floor

Ones Place = Rooms


Rooms numbers begin with 1 on the LEFT as you enter the pod from the Commons area and continue around the square until you get back to the beginning. Rooms ending in 9 are Tech Labs, located in the middle of the pod.

Example:  Room 128 is in Pod 1 on the 2nd Floor and is the first room on your RIGHT as you enter from the Commons Area
