After graduating from college, I moved to Fort Myers, Florida to accept my first art teaching position. For 10 years there, I taught in a very small migrant town, Immokalee, Florida. In 2006, we moved to Tennessee and I accepted a postion as an art interim at Piedmont Elementary. The following school year, I taught art at Maury Middle School. I began teaching at Dandridge Elementary in 2007.  I moved to Mt. Horeb in 2012. This is my 16th year of teaching art and I LOVE IT!

"If you love what you do for a living, you'll never work a day in your life". I truly believe this. I enjoy teaching art to young children. When they are enthusiastic, it makes me feel enlightened. It makes me feel good when my students complete a project with enthusiasm.  I take great pride in the art curriculum that I have developed.  I introduce the children to art history, including famous artists and masterpieces. I expose the children to art aesthetics and art criticism as well. I hope someday when a student recognizes a famous artwork, they can recall learning about it in my class.

I am a proud mother of 2 children, Amelia and Benjamin.  We live in a log home in Dandridge. Someday I would love to travel to Europe and see in those amazing masterpieces in person.
